So hey there.....

Well this is awkward. It's been a while since I've been here, and I forgot how this works. But while I may have forgotten how to write a blog, I have been updating my life. I am changing this blog into something that I can share about the changes I am now making in my life (and boy there are some pretty big ones I gotta say). So stick around (if you want) and see me make a massive change in my life, and maybe, hopefully, if you ever felt the need to change your life, this can help motivate and inspire you to do the same.

April 2014 Shopping Haul

So April was a bit of a big month. A lot of new stores had opened in Melbourne. H&M was a particular store that took a lot of my money this month.

To be far, I only bought a lot because I was very in the moment of a brand new store. I was able to purchase 2 jumpers, a gorgeous pair of jeans, a floral skirt, a basic long sleeve shirt, a grey scarf, a stack of rings and a stuffed whale plush. (I also upgraded my phone plan the same day, hence the Samsung Galaxy S5 box)

Prices:
  • Stack of rings: $8.95
  • Grey Scarf: $9.95
  • Whale plush: $4.95
  • Black Floral knitwear: $59.95
  • Burgundy jumper: $27.95
  • Jeans: $59.95
  • Skirt: $19.95
  • Basic long grey shirt: $12.95

How cute is this whale with a moustache? This was a total impulse purchase. I could feel the judgement coming from my best friend. But I couldn't let it go! It was only $4.95...

Overall, H&M products are price for quality. You get what you pay for. I will most likely go back once the hype has gone down and the lines have decreased in size.
As soon as I saw these heels, I fell in love with them. I bought them at Glue. They were the last pair. However they are a little bit big on me. But I couldn't let them go. They were just too gorgeous to leave behind. The gold heel cage detailing is what caught my eye. And I fall in love with them everytime I look at them.
Brand: Miss Selfridge
Price: $20

On Friday 25th, my mum and I decided to go check out DFO Essendon, and what a good idea that was. Oroton was having a massive 70% off storewide, and an extra 10% off when you bought 3 or more items. How amazing is that?!

I first picked up this gorgeous mint tote. I was really lucky because this was the last one in store. I bought it so I could use it for uni, but it's so gorgeous I'm scared too.
RRP: $395
Sale Price: $106.65

I found the cut outs on this clutch very unique, and that's what caught my eye. It's a flat clutch with measurements: 24 x 18. So it easily fits my phone, iPod, and other little knick-knacks easily.
RRP: $125
Sale Price: $33.75

I think I bought this small bag for when I went out and didn't want to carry around a massive bag. The coral colour was extremely appealing as well. I am easily attracted to bright colours...
RRP: $245
Sale Price: $52.65

I bought this clutch during my second round of DFO, so unfortunately I didn't get the extra 10% off.  The amber yellow colour makes it easy to match and style with all my clothes. I can use it on days when I don't feel like carrying a bag. It has the same measurements as the cream clutch.
RRP: $125
Sale Price: $37.50

I also bought this gorgeous dress from Forever New. For some reason, I am obsessed with the Hi-Lo look. And the embroidery on this dress was quite gorgeous too. I honestly don't know when I'm going to wear this dress, maybe a ball or for a wedding, who knows.
RRP: $119.99
Sale Price: $59.95

In the Melbourne CBD, you can always see pop-up stalls on the side walks. This particular stall was selling an assortment of bracelets. The stall guy said that when you tie the bracelet, you make a wish and it will come true. Unfortunately, due to work policies, I had to untie the bracelet. So hopefully I didn't untie my wishes....
Price: From left to right: The first three are $4 each, or 3 for $10. The golden anchor was $8.

For some reason, I always seem to be buying things, although I am sure that I have more than enough. So until the end of next month.

Maybelline Color Tattoo

For a long time now, I have had an obsession with these cream eye shadows, and I thought I would share my love with the world. Unfortunately, I haven't bought all the colours yet, as when I was buying them, I wanted colours that I knew that I would wear more often. I am currently missing: Painted Purple, Tough as Taupe and Edgy Emerald...and all the ones only available in America, such as: Fierce and Tangy and Pomegranate Punk. And also their Summer Limited Edition, which I so badly wanted (still want).

These cream shadows are amazing. They are easy to work with and are insanely pigmented. Great for on-the-go looks. They are easy to apply, and don't leave much of a mess. The pot also feels very sturdy. Like if you threw it at the wall in sheer frustration of your make up not doing what you want, I'm sure it will leave a dent in your wall... In Australia, you can pick them up at most chemists for $11.95. I usually like to wait when they have their sales, especially at Chemist Warehouse, when they have their 50% off cosmetics.

When I apply these, I like to use my fingers: middle and ring for the whole lid, and pinky for just the outer corners. You can layer it to make is as sheer or as solid as you like.

On the left is the normal collection and the right is the Metal collection

From top to bottom, left to right: Too Cool, Audacious Asphalt, Tenacious Teal
Bad to the Bronze, Bold Gold

Swatches (left to right) Bold Gold, Bad to the Bronze, Tenacious Teal, Audacious Asphalt, Too Cool

 This is the metal collection;
Clockwise from top left: Silver Strike, Barely Branded, Electric Blue, Inked in Pink

My go-to colour is Bad to the Bronze. I use it for casual days out. It doesn't look too dressy, but it does add some sparkle to your eyes. I also like to use Bad to the Bronze or Barely Branded as a base for when I use powdered eye shadow. It helps it stay longer, which is great for those who plan to have a long day/night out.

Little self intro

Hello blogger-sphere,

This will be my blog to do who-knows-what. My name is Margaret. 18 and from Melbourne.

Honest: free of deceit; truthful and sincere.
Whimsicality: the trait of acting unpredictably and more from whim or caprice than from reason or judgement

Here, on this wonderful and whimsical blog, I shall share with you my life...not that there is much to share. But I want to have this blog to share what I feel and what I find.

To be honest, I don't really know what this blog's main topic will be. It'll range from all sorts of things. Things most likely to be found are:

  • Shopping hauls
This is most likely due to my need to shop constantly. If I see something I like, before you know it, I'm probably already at the counter/checkout paying for it. Haul blogs will probably be done monthly. If I am having a crazy shopping week or there are some insane sales on, I could be posting weekly.
  • Beauty stuff: make-up, nail art and hair
Relating back to my shopping hauls, some products could be on review. For nail art, if I particularly like how I've done my nails, I might post up tutorials. And for hair...I don't really know, but I do some stupid things with it sometimes.
  • Photography
When I actually leave the house and get a life. I like to take photos of things. Sometimes a bit too much. Ask any of my friends and they will tell you I take an excessive amount of photos. I recently bought a Nikon Coolpix P520 for a trip to Japan and haven't used it since. I'm hoping that having a blog will become an incentive for me to use it more.
  • Food
I like to eat. A lot. This year, I am hoping to explore my city of Melbourne, specifically CBD, to find some good food. Doesn't matter if it's 5 star or some tiny little thing in an alleyway. If it's got good food, I'm in. So really a review of places that I find interesting and are worth the $$ and time

As my page title suggests, my posts will be nothing too serious, airy-fairy if best, but I will speak my mind and be honest.
